Stanwell Park Preschool attend the opening of a new park on Dharawal land

Stanwell Park Preschool was invited to the opening of a new park in Stanwell Park. Together with the children from Stanwell Park Public School and the council, they consulted on what should be put into the new park and added their voices to the design. The children walked through the bush to arrive at the new park, sat and listened to Elder Uncle Peter acknowledge the country and play the Yidaki. The Lord Mayor spoke and some councillors spoke. The children were excited to walk through the smoking ceremony, breathing in the eucalyptus smoke. The children then enjoyed playing in the natural elements of the new park.
